Family Law

A vocation expert determines an individual’s employability and earning capacity in family law matters where there are questions about an individual’s capacity to work and earn a living. This may involve evaluating the impact of long periods of unemployment, circumstances of underemployment, or even self-employment. The individual’s job seeking efforts as well as experience gained from volunteer or unpaid work experiences will be evaluated.

Family law matters generally do not involve evaluation of disability or medical impairments. Additional information, time and analysis are generally necessary to provide a report on the impact of these issues upon an individual’s earning capacity.
